United Canadian
Malt, Ltd., was founded in 1929 by Dr. Wander of Switzerland, owner of
Wander Foods. The malting company remained with Wander Foods for a couple
of decades, after which it passed to a food- and pharmaceutical-oriented
owner before its eventual purchase by a private buyer.
United Canadian's history has made it one of the
more diversified companies in the malt business. The company produces
materials for food, pharmaceutical, and industrial use in addition to
some of North America's premier malt extracts. United Canadian's line
of brewing products encompasses a range of specialty malt grains, brewers
adjuncts, hops, and dried yeasts. The company also stocks additional
brewer's supplies for sale to brewers, including chemicals, yeast nutrients,
filters, and bottles.
